Elan Valley - Ceredigion - Wales

I spotted this waterfall just off the mountain road in Wales. This took quite a lot of work to get the shot right, I had to wade through the water to get to this side of the water. I waited for a breeze to get some movement in the foreground fern, and then had to wait for the sun to go behind a cloud in order to get a slow enough shutter speed to blur the water.

Just before the sun dips over the valley walls, the low sun sidelights through, shining the warm light onto the side of the abandoned farmhouse that scatter the welsh countryside.

Berneuil - Charente - France

The morning mist cover the low valleys of South-west France after a downpour the day before. I took the shot 30 seconds after the sun had risen over the horizon giving a faint orange hue over the Landscape.

Danielle & Koray - Henley

I have just shot Danielle and Koray's wedding in Henley on a typical British summer's day. Thankfully the reception was indoors in an amazing coverted barn of Bix Manor. I have just finished editing the photographs and they can be seen on my website www.johnalexander.me.uk on the 8th August.

Nha Trang Fishing Port - Nha Trang - Vietnam

This is my last morning to take photos in Vietnam, so I really made myself get up to take this photo I scouted out the day before. I woke up the mother of the family run hotel at 4:45am to let me out of the building.
I waited until the sun rose, shining the first rays of light over the harbour, with five hugely bemused locals crowded around my tripod seeing what I was taking photos of. I started to explain the importance of aperture and they quickly moved on.
The selling of squid and dried fish became more intense, the 1 second exposure gives the movement needed to give the viewer a sense of being there.
This photo is six photos stiched together to make a 72 megapixel print.

My Last day in Nha Trang before heading back to England. I took this photo of a Vietnamese "Round Basket Boat" after taking the landscape shot uploaded next. I headed down to the market on the right of the photo to see what I could find and this was the result.

A quick private boat tour around the fishing villages around Nha Trang gave me the opportunity to take some photos of the typical vietnamese fishing boats that scatter the coasts of Nha Trang.
